Cajsa Silk will be soothing our souls this Monday night. The Swedish Songstress writes hauntingly beautiful and honest music, and with critical acclaim from the likes of NME, Clash, VICE, Indie Shuffle and The Line of Best Fit, we are super excited to see what she brings to the Shacklewell. Tickets are only £6, grab them quick!
Wednesday night sees the mercurially talented Kiran Leonard perform at the Shacklewell as part of his March tour. Check out his brand new EP in advance of the show here, and come on down for his truly unique exploration of prog-pop, scuzz-rock and a million places in between.
Low-fi pop act Gorgeous Bully continue the fun on Thursday night with a free show and support from Fever Dream and Thalassocracy. Pop Noire return to the Shacklewell on Friday night with live performances from two brilliant bands from New Zealand: A Dead Forest Index and Popstrangers. Tickets are only £5, and its guaranteed to be an ace start to the weekend.
And closing this week in style is the first of many Critical Heights’ all-dayers on Sunday. Performances from Grimm Grimm, Fake Laugh, The Death of Pop, Loaded, Yoofs, Home Clouds, O. Chapman, and Husband Material, and Art is Hard DJs will be rounding everything off. See you down there for a day of seriously good live music.

Super excited to announce that Heavenly Recordings will be rounding off this year’s Label Mates Festival with an extra special headliner. You’re going to have to head down to the Shacklewell on Sunday to see for yourself, but we can reveal that they are a super exciting psych-rock quintet, who have received praise form the likes of Pitchfork, The Quietus and The Line of Best Fit. Expect a skilful fusion of shoegaze, C86 jangles, and drone from this brilliant East London band.

Label Mates continues at the Shacklewell this week so expect 7 jam-packed nights of music, beer and vinyl. Monday night comes courtesy of Odd Box Records, a DIY indie label with real commitment to the local scene. Live performances from Tyrannosaurus Dead, The Wolfhounds, and The Ethical Debating Society.
On Tuesday night Fierce Panda will be celebrating their 10 year Birthday with performances from Desperate Journalist and White Giant, and on Wednesday the ever-exciting Trashmouth Records carry on the festivities with Taman Shud, Meatraffle and Pit Pony Records.
Bad Vibrations will be bringing some old friends and brand new sounds to the Shacklewell on Thursday, the line-up will not disappoint! Friday night is hosted by Fuzz Club Records – they will guarantee a good start to the weekend with performances from Iceland’s Singapore Sling, Radar Men from the Moon and The Wands.
Faux Discx continue the fun on Saturday with a packed out evening of music. Come down from 5pm to catch Sex Hands, Primitive Parts, Sealings, Teardrop Factory, Royal Limp and Lower Slaughter. And rounding off the Festival on Sunday is Heavenly Recordings. With an all-dayer of bands and a very exciting headline act, we’re sure they’ll end everything on a high.

Field Day London, Bad Vibrations, Lanazarote, This Is Postcards and Krautrock Karaoke have all joined forces to celebrate another year in the life of The Shacklewell Arms!
On Friday, April 24th, This Is Postcards’ ongoing celebration of the Scottish Indie scene bring BRIT and Grammy-nominated legends Franz Ferdinand to The Shacklewell Arms for an exclusive DJ set and live bands forthcoming.
Saturday 25th will see London avant-rockers Cheatahs perform their ‘Circle In A’ project with special guests.
Madrid’s garage rockers The Parrots provide support, plus more bands to be announced soon.
For two years, Krautrock Karaoke has been on of London’s wildest nights out, featuring local talents performing Motorik classics. It only seems right that we close the weekend with Krautrock Karaoke’s Shacklewell All-Stars All-Dayer on Sunday, April 26th.
Throughout the weekend, Bad Vibrations will showcase some of their all-time best artwork with a poster exhibition and Black Wax Record Shack will be selling a killer selection of garage, psych, post punk and indie records.
The concurrent Shacklewell Arms Ale Fest will ensure you stay refreshed all weekend long!

Coming up this Wednesday at the Shacklewell is the Barringtone ‘Feverhead’ single release party. The trio create a heady mix of power pop, anthemic rock riffs, guitar/synth wig-outs and off-kilter vox, and with free entry make sure you don’t miss these guys. Support comes from Chorusgirl, Carl White, Darren Cullen DJ and Stephanie Walton DJ.
Post Louis, Felt Tip & Britain will be performing live on Thursday courtesy of the collective Snap, Crackle and Pop. It’s free entry, but make sure you come down early to avoid disappointment – this show is going to be wicked.
Friday night kicks of the Label Mates Festival (ten consecutive days of music, beer, and vinyl) with Burger Records. Expect a specially curated show from the Californians featuring Froth and Mozes & The Firstborn. Fortuna POP! carry things on with an all-dayer on Saturday with live performances from eight of their finest acts: Comet Gain, Withered Hand, Tigercats, Simon Love + A Little Orchestra, Evans The Death, Darren Hayman, Pete Astor and Bill Botting (of Allo Darlin’).
Label Mates continues on Sunday with Cardinal Fuzz. After a brilliant year in 2014 with releases from the likes of Kikagaku Moyo, Lumerians, The Heads, The Oscillation and a myriad of others, their evening featuring Anthroprophh, Dead Sea Apes and You’re Smiling Now But We’ll All Turn Into Demons promises to be awesome. Wednesday night comes courtesy of the brilliant Snapped Ankles, with Henge, We Wild Blood and Casual Nun providing support. Tickets are just £5, and it’s guaranteed to be a wicked night. The low-fi pop duo Tuff Love will be taking over the Shacklewell on Thursday for their ’Dross’ EP launch, with support from the excellent Lazy Day. It’s completely free, but make sure you RSVP to guarantee entry.
Your Friday night festivities comes all the way from Italy via the dream-pop act Be Forest. At only £7, these guys aren’t to be missed. And bringing this awesome week to close is Cult of Youth. The Brooklyn four piece will be performing this Sunday, and we’re super excited to see what they bring to the Shacklewell.

Next up, alt-rock quartet Shy Nature are launching their brand-new ‘Birthday Club’ EP tomorrow night at a free entry show– and they’ll be selling it on limited edition 10″ vinyl ahead of its release on the 16th. Then on Thursday, we’re hosting a fundraiser for an independent short film, Desert-ar, which will feature live performances from Pink Film and Britain as well as DJs until late for just £5.
Friday, shoegaze-influenced Manchester band The Shinies are launching their new album, ‘Nothing Like Something Happens Anywhere’ with support from rising locals Loaded and Yowl, and it’s absolutely free. Afterwards, Night Terrors will be on the decks until 3am with a superb selection of psych, punk, indie and garage.
For Valentine’s Day, it’s an free all-dayer curated by Simon Love in conjunction with Fortuna POP!. Simon Love and The Old Romantics, math-rockers Cosines, and indiepop from The Fireworks, The Bobby McGees, Tender Prey, Mr. Solo (Mikey Georgeson), and Alex and the Christopher Hale Band. Fortuna POP! DJs will return with their club night afterwards, spinning great records until 3am to close out the undoubtedly romantic evening.

To finish things off for Independent Venue Week, Fluffer Records has staged another Shacklewell Arms takeover—it’s Love Buzzard’s first 2015 headline, and Strange Cages, Sewer Rats, and The Venus Lyx are along for the ride. Fluffer DJs will spin the best psych, punk, and garage until midnight.
