This one’s a bit of a departure in some ways for BleeD, but then the opportunity to  present a debut UK show for a truly unique artist who has been honing his craft since the  freaky times of late 1970′s New York, doesn’t come along every day! We’ve waited a long time to witness Gary, now with a taut live band in tow, in the flesh. If you only go to one ‘happening’ this year, make it this one!

In 1977 GARY WILSON famously released a uniquely bizarre and personal album titled You Think You Really Know Me…, full of electro-funk, proto-new-wave, noise collage, and avant-garde jazz. Despite the fact that the album’s fans included Beck, ?uestlove from The Roots, Simpsons creator Matt Groening, and many others, widespread fame and notoriety eluded Gary Wison until the 2002 re-release of his debut album on the ever astute Stone’s Throw Records.

Soon after media outlets like Pitchfork, The Village Voice, and The New York Times were  talking about the lecherous outsider artist, remarkable as much for his idiosyncrasies and DIY aesthetic as his edgy and creative music.

The incredible HOLLYWOOD SINNERS have agreed to take their Spring holiday in Dalston this year! Serial garage rockers Dirty Water Club set the stage for another evening of balls to the wall rock n roll on Saturday 18 May.

Also on the bill are London classic punks The Ricky C Quartet, fiery guitar band The Plastic Pals and new all female band Ano.

Be prepared for a killer garage night at The Shacklewell Arms this Sunday. Aliment coming from the sunny Barcelona will make you sweat with their punchy garage punk tunes. Akin to Jay Reatard, Bad Sports, Audacity, they’ll be performing here after a couple of gigs at The Great Escape festival in Brighton and before the Primavera Sound craziness starts.

Fat White Family, are a band who’ve burst onto the scene after crawling out from the crevices of Peckham and Brixton to receive acclaim from critics and fans alike for their debut album, Champaign Holocaust.

They’ll be at the Shacklewell Arms just the day before they release their next single Special Ape on Trashmouth Records, premiered on Vice’s Noisey.

Charlie Havoc and the Nicotines will be supporting the feast.

Jonathan Toubin brings his world famous New York Night Train Soul Clap and Dance-Off to The Shacklewell Arms on Thursday 23 May. Southampton based artist Tropics- aka Chris Ward – comes to the Shacklewell Arms on Sunday, performing as part of Dalston’s annual music and arts festival, Land Of Kings. “No Thrills is the proper debut record of Joe Flory. It’s been a long time coming from a man we now know as Amateur Best and some may remember as Primary 1. The music is autobiographical, romantic and undeniably poppy. Indeed, he describes his songwriting as primarily informed by a lifelong fascination with pop music, from early encounters with Michael Jackson cassettes when he was growing up in Singapore, to discovering the more inventive strains of pop we’ve been spoiled with over the past decade.”
